Sam Thomas, LCSW, PhD Candidate (All But Dissertation) is a relational therapist, mediator, and educator whose work centers emotional depth, relational integrity, and justice-oriented healing.
Sam earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver and is currently All But Dissertation (ABD) in the PhD program in Clinical Social Work at Smith College School for Social Work, where her scholarship is grounded in psychodynamic theory. She also serves as affiliate and adjunct faculty at multiple universities, teaching courses in clinical theory, human behavior, diversity and social justice, intro to DSM, and practicum seminars that bridge classroom learning with lived clinical practice.
As the founder and CEO of Relational Harmony Group, Sam brings more than a decade of experience as a therapist, conflict resolution specialist, and restorative justice practitioner. Her clinical work is grounded in psychodynamic and relational therapy, with additional training in attachment-based work, narrative therapy, IFS, trauma-focused CBT, and multisystemic approaches. She is especially drawn to depth-oriented work that explores how early relationships, culture, and racialized trauma shape present-day identity, emotional life, and relational patterns.
In her mediation and conflict resolution practice, Sam integrates restorative justice principles, nonviolent communication, and structured frameworks such as the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument, the Circle of Conflict, and the Transcend Model. What distinguishes her work is the therapeutic depth she brings into these spaces, creating opportunities for recognition, accountability, repair, and sustainable change, rather than focusing solely on agreement-making.
Sam believes healing is relational and that conflict, when held with care, can become a powerful site of insight, repair, and transformation. Through Relational Harmony Group, she partners with individuals, families, and organizations seeking not only relief from distress, but deeper alignment and clarity in how they live, work, and relate.
